About the product

The iSMA-B-MAC36NL-M-REPLACE is the hardware only version of the MAC36NL-M. It comes without SD card and no license. This is particularly useful if you need the hardware beforehand and license it only when you need to, thus reducing any risks of ordering a bigger license.

The iSMA-B-MAC36NL is a compact Master Application Controller with built-in different types of I/O and operating in Niagara Framework environment. Using the specific local I/O set 16x UI, 8x AO, 4xDI and 8x DO allows to use the device in different applications. The controller provides control, data logging, alarming, scheduling, integration and visualisation.

To allow IP connectivity there are 2x Fast Ethernet ports which can operate as two independent ports. Built-in 1x RS485 can be used to expand number of I/O by connecting MINI or MIX series I/O modules or to integrate with other subsystems.
iSMA-B-MAC36NL provides rich graphical interface displaying on a standard Web browser or on external display connected to built-in HDMI and USB port (touch-screen support).

There are two more hardware versions of the controller available: standard iSMA-B-MAC36NL and with the second RS485 port

    Product Informations

What is the default IP of the device?

The default IP is : 192.168.1.123.

What Niagara version is needed to connect to this controller?

At the moment the default Niagara version is N4.4 (4.4.73.24).

What should I do if I need to use Niagara 4.4.92.2?

To install dist you can either copy the DIST FILES to your
%HOMEPATH%\Niagara4.4\sw\inbox folder and use commisioning wizard, or use Platform‚ÜíDistribution File Installer, choose file and install.

What should I do if I need to use Niagara 4.6 and 4.7?

Please download the 4.6 and 4.7 update files HERE, into the zipfile you will find a file named “iSMA_MAC36_files_installer_v1.0.945”, this will copy for you all the DIST files into the relevant folders. After this procedure you will need to restart the Workplace and commission your MAC36NL with the 4.6 or 4.7 version.

What are the improvements for the MAC36NL with Niagara 4.6 and 4.7?

With the release of N4.6 and N4.7 for the MAC36NL you some new features:

    What communication networks are available?

In this stage the Networks that work are:

    - Modbus RS485

    - Modbus TCP

    - BACnet TCP

    - BACnet MSTP available for version N4.6 and N4.7.

    - Mbus TCP

    - Niagara Network

What features are implemented into this controller compared to the Tridium Jace?

The iSMA has the same features as a Tridium N4 controller:

    -Alarm

    -Histories

-PX pages (web User Interface pages) HTML 5 web viewing

-Communication with Niagara controllers and Supervisors through Niagara Network

When commissioning I see this message: there is no Core software found that can be installed, what should I do?

The core software is installed from the factoryfor version 4.4.73, you just need to press Next.

After using the commissioning wizard to install the Station and modules, I can see into the Application Directory that there are errors regarding the Web Server and I cannot access the controller from the webpage. How do I resolve that error and access the controller through the web page?

At this stage the Web server works with the TCP port above 1024, so you will need to go and change the HTTP and HTTPs ports to be above 1024 (ex: HTTP port - 8080, HTTPs port 8443). After setting this up please restart the station. This issue was resolved in N4.6 and N4.7 release.

How does the Local IOs work?

The Local IO driver it is still at an early stage and you will need to Download the Jar file. Put it into the Modules folder and restart the Workbench. Go and find the iSMA IO into the Palette.
Into the Drivers add from the iSMA_IO Palette the iSMA IO Network, after that open the Property Sheet of the Drivers to see the recently added Network. Under it add the Local IO Device and under that add the points from the palette.

How do I change the Universal Input type?

Open the property sheet of the UI and you will see the Input type property, by default it is set to Voltage.

How do I change the Analog Output type?

Open the property sheet of the AO and you will see the Output type property, by default it is set to Voltage.

How can I use the HDMI function?

The manufacturer is currently testing the HDMI function and will release it in the next software update.
