A Ready For Anything® building block

A battery-powered LoRaWAN temperature sensor for ambient monitoring — deploy standalone or connect a probe for pipe surface, cold store, or confined space readings.

LoRaWAN Class A · BACnet native via KONA gateway · EU868 / US915 · Probe-ready · Up to 10 years battery life

The problem this product exists to solve

Most BMS systems have temperature inputs. Most of those inputs are wired. In a plant room with 12 pipe runs, wiring a sensor to each one is a half-day job per sensor. The TUNDRA is a wireless alternative — battery powered, LoRaWAN connected, reporting directly into BACnet without a cable.

Used standalone it monitors ambient temperature in the space where it is mounted. Add the temperature probe accessory and it reads pipe surface temperature, cold store internal temperature, or any confined space where the sensor body cannot physically sit. One device, two deployment modes, no wiring required in either case.

Why the TUNDRA Base Unit is Ready For Anything®

🟢 Ready for Today

  • Ambient temperature monitoring — ±0.5°C — suitable for plant rooms, server rooms, cold stores, and occupied spaces where a wired sensor is not viable
  • Up to 10 years battery life — deploy once, commission once, leave it running for the project lifecycle
  • Probe-ready — connect the TUNDRA temperature probe accessory for pipe surface or confined space readings without replacing the sensor body

🔵 Ready for Change

  • Standalone or probe-connected — start with ambient monitoring, add a probe later when the application requires it
  • Wireless deployment — no cable, no wiring centre change; mount on any surface with LoRaWAN coverage

🔗 Ready for Integrations

  • LoRaWAN Class A — EU868, US915, AU915 — pairs with TEKTELIC KONA Micro or Enterprise gateways
  • BACnet output via KONA embedded LNS — Niagara 4 sees the sensor as a standard BACnet analog input object; map it to your control logic the same way you would any wired sensor

A few things worth knowing before you deploy

  • Measures down to -40°C — designed for cold chain and cold store applications; accurate at temperatures that would take most room sensors out of specification
  • Temperature and humidity in one device — both readings in a single LoRaWAN uplink; two BACnet analog properties from one device address, one gateway slot
  • IP65 rated — suitable for cold stores, plant rooms, and any environment where condensation or occasional wash-down exposure is a factor
  • Legionella risk monitoring — the TUNDRA with probe is used in pipe temperature monitoring for Legionella compliance programmes; if you need to evidence that hot water pipework is maintaining temperature above 50°C at remote points, this is the sensor to specify; no cable, no wired PT100, no wiring centre involvement
